“Every part no matter how destructive it seems, carries a wish to protect life.”
− Dick Schwartz

I am a BACP registered member and a fully insured Therapeutic Counsellor working in clinical practice for 10 years.

I use Internal Family Systems (depending on the needs of my clients) as part of my integrative practice which has a person-centred approach at its core. As such I am very loyal to the belief that the therapeutic relationship is central to discovering the root cause of clients’ difficulties and their healing.

For many, talking therapy is transformative. Often starting from a place of confusion and doubt, an explorative journey reveals a deeper understanding of ourselves, our feelings, behaviours and impulses, our place in the world and how we interact with others.

Within a warm and welcoming environment, difficult and often complex feelings are heard without judgement.

I am often asked how long the therapeutic journey will take. There is no standard answer as everyone’s life experience is unique. Loosely speaking, short term work is anything from 6 to 12 weeks.  In that time we can address issues such as anxiety, loss, relationship problems or life changes.

Longer term work is anything from 3 months onwards where there is opportunity to explore repetitive patterns of behaviour, life choices, addiction, trauma, and experiences from childhood for example.

Areas of interest and experience of working with, amongst others:

  • Trauma

  • Anxiety

  • Bereavement

  • Low self-esteem

  • Work related stress

  • Addiction

  • Health Anxiety

  • Disordered eating

  • Relationship issues

  • Domestic Abuse

  • Menopause
